As a pre-teen, I was spellbound by books; they became my escape. My first job was at the local library, where I proudly stamped due date cards and kept the shelves tidy. I didn’t know it then, but I was already learning how to hold space for stories. Writing and making art became regular companions.

In my early twenties, as a young mother, I enrolled in creative writing courses, began self-publishing zines, and saw my words published in both print and digital spaces. That period of time changed me. I experienced the healing power of storytelling.

That experience sparked a passion that would guide the rest of my life. In 2004, I began my journey as a creative business owner. Since then, my creative practice has taken many forms, from writing and publishing books and zines to exploring painting, collage, art journaling, and all sorts of handmade things.

Along the way, I became a Certified Cosmic Smash Book Guide and a Certified Intentional Creativity Teacher. Both practices deepened my relationship with creativity. They helped me explore questions, listen to myself, process experiences, and discover what might be waiting beneath the surface.

After the sudden death of my husband in 2018, my relationship with creativity deepened in ways I never could have anticipated. Art and journaling became more than forms of self-expression. They offered space to process grief, find grounding, and reconnect with myself during a time when so much felt uncertain.

That experience still shapes how I create and facilitate today. I believe creativity can help us navigate life's transitions, explore what's unfolding within us, and build a deeper relationship with our own inner wisdom.

What I Believe

• I believe we write from where we are, not where we think we should be.

• I believe creativity is sacred.

• I believe creativity flourishes in community, and we’re not meant to do this alone.

• I believe in movement before mastery. We learn by making, experimenting, and sometimes making a glorious mess.

• I believe curiosity deserves to be followed, even when we don't know where it will lead.

• I believe not everything we create needs to become something we sell.

How I CREATE + FACILITATE

My creative practice is rooted in curiosity, experimentation, and a willingness to begin before I know exactly where I'm going. I follow threads, make messes, change direction, and see what emerges along the way.

I bring that same spirit into the spaces I facilitate.

Whether we're painting, writing, collaging, or exploring a creative inquiry, I'm less interested in teaching people how to make something *perfect* and more interested in what happens when we give ourselves permission to explore.

Drawing from more than two decades of creative practice, I blend thoughtful inquiry, intuitive making, storytelling, reflection, and a little playful experimentation to create spaces where people can slow down, listen to themselves, and discover something unexpected.

The Circles I Hold

There's something powerful about coming together to create, share stories, and witness one another's experiences.

Through workshops, creative circles, and collaborative gatherings, I invite people into spaces where curiosity is welcome, creative expression is celebrated, and there's no pressure to have it all figured out.

These are spaces where your story is honored, your process is welcomed, and we get to remember that creativity doesn't have to happen alone.

A Peek Into Sacred Roots Farmstead

I'm also growing a creative life rooted in the land at Sacred Roots Farmstead, my little micro-farmstead in the Pacific Northwest.

It's a place where zines are made, herbs are harvested, chickens roam, grapes become homemade juice, and curiosity often leads me down another unexpected path.

Tending the land has become an extension of my creative practice. It's where I experiment, learn, slow down, and reconnect with the rhythms of the seasons.

It's messy, abundant, imperfect, and always evolving. Much like the rest of my creative life.
